Fort Night Vintage Moroccan Rug 6'6"x9'1" (Wool)
The History
Taznakhtand Berber carpets are a real work of Moroccan art. Hand-woven by Berbers in the Atlas Mountains in villages around the City of Ouarzazat bordering the Sahara Desert.
The Artisan
This vintage rug was made by a woman of a Berber tribe in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Approximately 20-30 years old, this carpet would have originally been made by a Berber woman for personal use in her own home.
She created this Moroccan carpet with wool and small portions of cotton thread and permitted herself personal freedom in expressing her own creativity and values through North African symbology and colors as she wove these designs.
The Look
The multicolored lozenges represent a female symbol, while the ornamented borders symbolize the limits of human existence. Bringing a classical vibe to the room it is placed in, we recommend it for offices.
This Moroccan rug is one of a kind and can be used as a rug or wall hanging.
The Feel
This soft and comfortable low pile vintage carpet is rich in symbolism.
